Q: What led you to work in the holistic wellness industry?
I had a very hard time transitioning from Lithuania to the United States. I had a lot of culture shock; the two countries were like two different worlds. For a long time, I didn’t feel like this was home for me. I had a hard time fitting in. Eventually, I started struggling with my mental health. In college, my depression got severe, so I started taking medication. I was going to therapy, but I felt like I was a hamster running in a wheel. No matter how much talk therapy I did, it wasn’t helping me. The medication did help a little but felt very surface level or band-aid like. I kept looking for therapists to help but felt like I kept running into walls because I wasn’t getting the insight I was looking for. Eventually, I found a hypnotherapist near where I lived in Chicago. Financially, it was very steep for me, but I did it anyway because I was desperate to get better. And it started working! I noticed I was being less reactive, and it was a different approach to the therapies I had done before. I felt a shift in a positive direction, and I realized that I was the only one that could help myself. So, I started seeking spirituality. I believe that we are multi-dimensional beings. There isn’t a single approach that will help everyone. We need to heal ourselves and seek our own way of healing. Thus, I’m constantly learning and constantly finding new ways of understanding people and the world.
Q: What do you like most about your line of work?
I consider myself to be more of a holistic coach. I like the fact that I’m able to learn different modalities to help my clients. I continue learning and seeking different types of knowledge, applying it and share my knowledge so clients can apply it to their own lives. I’m currently completing a course in hypnobirthing and have been incorporating reiki. What is the most gratifying thing for me is seeing the positive shifts in my clients after I help them get the insights they need. They become more excited about life and go from a place of just existing to actually living.
Q: What do you enjoy doing for fun?
I love spending time with my daughter, Echo, and doing crafts with her. I enjoy live music and painting. I spend a lot of time in nature and hiking. I grew up surrounded by nature so taking time to be in nature is a way for me to get in touch with my inner child.
